The importance and variety of media in my life today

The media plays a very significant role in our society today. Almost everything we do in our everyday life involves a type of media. From on the TV, the music we listen too, or the apps and internet we use.

I feel without media in our lives we would be at a disadvantage in developing the technology of today and isolated. Not only from the rest of the world but also from the current news and friends and family. I also think peoples individuality would be limited and not expressed the same as it is today. People views and opinions on topics would also be limited without the wide array of facilities there is today.

Although there are many varieties of media in the world to communicate such as text, Facebook, twitter and e-mail. I do believe the most common form of communicated is word of mouth as it is the beginning source of the news.

However the worlds media has many advantages there is always disadvantages. Stories have the possibility of being twisted and people take sides. Maybe to make it more interesting or simply to get more money. There furthermore is the easy ability to spread stories and create and publish biased or untrue information.

However media in todays interactive connected society has become the main source of information. The role it plays as being the main source of information is a controversial issue.
